"My first time" event @ Klimahaus Bremerhaven

The day started with departure from servery at 9:10 with 8 people on board, and arrival at Klimahaus at around 11:00. The tour took around 4 hours in total, and the feeling after the event was nothing less than “Awesome”. Places visited on the tour include Bremerharven (Germany), Switzerland, Italy, Niger, Cameroon, Antartica, Samoa, Alaska (USA), Langeness (Germany). The pictures attached confirms the story...

thanks a lot for the great fun at the Olympix! So much great effort and great fun playing sports! In particular thanks to the hard working cheerleaders. Members of all colleges agreed: BEST CHEARLEADING PERFORMANCE at Jacobs EVER!!!

Floor Decoration Winners!!!

What a success!! The brand new initiative “floor day” saw a whole new atmosphere in College 3. On this evening, almost every inhabitant of every floor could be found with a paint brush or roll of tape in their hands. As a result, College 3 is looking its finest ever and its members are, if possible, even more integrated. The competitive spirit is already rising in the run up to the Olympix!

The College Masters are said to have been speechless at the effort that was put in by all when they returned from vacation to find a transformed college.

This year C3 is bursting with eager applicants for Parliament with over 13 candidates for the coveted 4 Parliamentarian spots. Speeches took place at dinner September 14, 2009 where the candidates eloquently announced their platforms. If you missed the speeches try to check out the statements in the C3 servery or via email. With such a large number of qualified applicants, the decision while voting will certainly be a difficult one. Make sure you get informed and cast your ballot for your favorite 4 applicants at lunch and dinner September 15, 2009 in the C3 Servery. If you can’t make it to vote make sure you send a message to the student court (studentcourt@lists.jacobs-university.de) to absentee vote by email. With such an enthusiastic bunch of applicants it is certain to be a great year for C3!!!

Floor day in C3!!!

From regal to sexy, C3 transformed Sunday evening September 13, 2009. At 17:00 all floors exploded with life as paint and paper flew into creative design. Pizza was delivered to spur on the good work and enabled the floors to congregate and vote on newly elected floor reps and olympix block captains. Each floor carefully selected a theme and tried to incorporate individual interests within the overall project. Some floors even brought the C3 green spirit into their theme with ivy filled jungles, gigantic dragons posted on the wall, and even a green spin on the infamous red light district.

Great trip to the Grambkesee!

It has just started to rain but we had a couple of hours of lovely sun at the lake: tons of sausages, great freshwater (the girls even went in swimming), some volleyball and LOTS of Uno!

Don't forget: 'Know your hood: Grambke Sportparksee' only opened this year's "My first time" event series. Register for future events just by contacting the person in charge (next: Horse Racing in Bremen on Friday 18th, organized by Rob).
