COLLEGE 3, THE PLACE TO BE!

Upon joining College 3, the best of the four residential colleges at Jacobs University, we can promise you that you will enjoy our:
  • Awesome Events! At C3, we pride ourselves on our great events too! There really is something for everyone! Check out our virtual 'Poster Wall' to see some of our past events!
  • Common Room, where C3 residents attempt to escape the vast amounts of work in a more relaxing atmosphere. The Common Room is the perfect place, offering two pool tables, an air hockey table, two ping pong tables, darts, a poker table and many comfortable couches.

  • New, awe-inspiring Lounge (opened Feb 2009). Elegantly redesigned to include a flat screen LCD television, and seating at two tables, this room is the perfect place to play a board game, read a book, build a puzzle, or simply chill out with friends.
  • Quiet Study Area, located on the 3rd floor conveniently between the four blocks, this area never sleeps, with students constantly working or in discussion.
  • Conference Room, which is commonly used for tutorials given its separation from the rest of the QSA, allowing for more discussion and instruction with use of the whiteboard. Meetings such as those of the student parliament also occur in this room. When the room is not reserved, the Conference Room acts as a very quiet place of hard work into the very late hours of the night.
  • College Office, also located in a room connected to the QSA. Throughout the majority of the day, the college office will provide assistance to the residents of C3 with a wide range of matters, from help in the Multimedia room, to printing problems. Any inquiries about the life or facilities of C3 can be made to the college office. Our friendly team is always here to help you!
  • Awesome Multimedia Room (opened in C3 in Jan 2008). Booked for more than 2800 hours in the past two years, our Multimedia Room is definitely the most popular and the most used facility of its kind on campus. Unique with its Bluray player, HD full Sky package and 5.1 surround sound to create an amazing viewing experience, whether watching the latest movies or most exciting sports events, this room is easily bookable through our awesome yet simple online booking system. Xbox has also now been added to the college's facilities and can be played via HDMI on the big screen!
  • Location. Situated next to the basketball, tennis and volleyball courts and overlooking the soccer pitch, C3 is also only two minutes away from all classes and labs. We also have a fantastic terrace area, with large tables, where one can eat meals with friends on sunny days and a grassy area perfect for reading, studying or sunbathing during the spring and summer months.
  • Great student accomodation. Whether a double room as an undergraduate or a single room as a graduate student, all rooms in College 3 are spacious, comfortable and have a bathroom including shower (shared with roomate in double room, private in single rooms).. All rooms have telephones and internet access.
  • Party Room (available for booking throughout the last couple of years) - and, of course,

  • Unique Servery, the only one on campus which offers wireless internet access and a brand new music system with 6 speakers that can be used by students to create a great atmosphere at mealtimes by simply plugging in their laptops and playing their favourite music for the rest of the College!
  • "Old School", a room in the D-block basement where students have everything they need (chairs, desks, blackboard, chalk) to study, alone or in small groups, away from the rest of the college, when the Conference room is already booked or when they simply want to be in a quiet and undisturbed place.
